About The Position

Lead the Cost Management team on client commissions, making sure that the team delivers on all accountabilities through the project life cycle. Develop cost estimates and budget forecast plans and present it to stakeholders with recommendations to reconcile changes that occur over the project phases. Thorough review of contract documents, permit applications, project schedule updates, vendor proposals, for fiber network infrastructure scope. Identify and act upon ways for incremental improvement in project controls processes for Cost & schedule, through creation of new tools and dashboard development via power BI, looker studio and SQL. Manage cost benchmarking program utilizing clients current needs and historical cost information to help streamline procurement strategy Create and manage new CAPEX project budget, using tools such as eBuilder, Quickbase, buganizer and buying hub. Collaborate with client stakeholders to gather cost, performance, resource data and review productivity data, demand plan and other program KPI’s. Design and facilitate timely reporting methods via dashboards, presentation deck to the leadership team on project portfolio updates, present vs planned phase, and new business opportunities. Conduct training sessions with the team on various aspects of Cost Management to ensure high quality and standards are maintained across the organization Utilize the tools provided to keep track of the ongoing margin levels and monthly fee/resource forecasts for each commission and undertake recruitment interviews. RELATED OCCUPATION: Consultant or any other job title performing the following job duties: Centralized Project Documentation: Spearheaded efforts to document costs, schedules, and resource metrics, facilitating streamlined and transparent reporting that enabled better control over project expenditures. Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement: Worked closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, production, and project management, to streamline cost reporting and ensure alignment between budget forecasts and financial goals across multiple projects. Data-Driven Decision Making: Developed and managed dashboards to analyze business trends, identify productivity gaps, and supported data-driven decisions that drive continuous process improvements. Process Improvement Initiatives: Partnered with operational and project management teams to document and enhanced work processes, leading to significant improvements in vendor productivity and the establishment of measurable KPIs. Detailed Estimations: Prepared detailed takeoffs from design renderings, specifications, and architectural drawings, accurately estimating labor, services, and materials required for project execution, ensuring cost-effective delivery. Budget Management: Supported project controls by tracking and maintaining budgets ensuring that all financial activities were in compliance with client expectations and project requirements. Bid Preparation and Normalization: Created detailed bid proposals and performed bid normalizations, ensured that all financial aspects of projects were aligned with strategic goals while addressing project complexities. Supplier and Contractor Coordination: Maintained a comprehensive directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors, and ensured cohesive cost control efforts through continuous communication and collaboration. Cost Tracking and Reporting: Monitored monthly invoices against actual costs, processed change orders, and prepared regular expenditure reports to ensure transparency and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Continuous Learning and Application: Applied critical thinking and problem-solving skills to both estimation and project controls, continuously learning and adapted to new challenges in the construction and data center industries.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of experience in the Related Occupation
