The Associate Director must demonstrate the ability to lead a diverse team within a defined geographic region, program area, or funding structure. The Associate Director for AFC Programs serves as the agency’s subject matter expert on the Adult Family Care (AFC) Program, which is developed and modeled after MassHealth-funded Adult Foster Care services. This role requires extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of AFC program operations, including regulatory compliance, staffing, billing, audits, and program administration. The Associate Director is responsible for oversight of program components such as documentation, policies and procedures, training resources, criminal background checks, pre-admission medical requirements, operations manuals, service delivery systems, and clinical and ethical considerations. Additionally, the Associate Director ensures compliance with all reporting requirements to MassHealth, including utilization and critical incident reporting. This position maintains management oversight and accountability for all aspects of local program operations, ensuring alignment with the agency’s mission, leadership objectives, internal policies and practices, funding requirements, and all applicable regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.
