About The Position

This position leads provider reimbursement activities within the Health Benefits (NC Medicaid) Division, overseeing financial analysis, planning, and reporting related to fee‑for‑service and managed care payment operations. The role manages coordination of fiscal rules and standards, ensures compliance with state and federal guidance, and communicates moderately complex financial and programmatic information to diverse stakeholders to support division goals. The position may supervise staff and direct unit-level transitions to new programs, review and approve written financial reports, and provide recommendations to leadership on strategic choices, budget monitoring, and performance improvement. Work is performed under general supervision and evaluated for overall program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, management or related discipline from an accredited institution with six years of directly-related experience and at least one year of supervisory experience OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and organizing complex workstreams and adapting to continually changing priorities.
  • Proven leadership managing accounting programs or similar financial functions, including supervising staff and driving process improvements.
  • Documented experience analyzing and compiling moderately complex data from multiple sources to produce actionable insights.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and reports and interpreting, applying, and communicating fiscal regulations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, forecasting, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and solid proficiency across Microsoft Office.
