About The Position

The Associate Director, Operational Excellence Communications, part of the RTX Employee Engagement team, is responsible for leading, developing and executing strategic communications plans in support of RTX Operations & Supply Chain (OSC) and all three business units. Specifically, in this role, you will lead a team responsible for OSC Communications for RTX, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon, supporting Operations, Supply Chain, EH&S, Quality, CORE, Industry 4.0 and Global Security Services. This position requires a deep understanding of employee and executive communications, as well as the ability to inspire confidence, build trust, and drive alignment among multiple senior leaders, stakeholders, and teams across the enterprise. You must also be able to demonstrate strong cross-team leadership and direct team management, a collaborative approach, analytical and project management skills, and strategic communications planning expertise.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing employee communication strategies with measurable outcomes that align with business goals, including leveraging digital platforms and analytics to optimize impact.
  • Proven expertise in executive communications within corporate or highly regulated industries, with excellent writing and editing skills and a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders, and translate complex ideas into clear, concise messaging.
  • Skilled at prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines, and driving continuous improvement through feedback collection, metrics, and analytics.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Communications or related field.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team responsible for the development, implementation and measurement of comprehensive communications plans that drive RTX and BU OSC strategic priorities.
  • Lead executive communications for RTX and BU Operations leaders and serve as a strategic advisor for multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver high-impact communications that amplify the voices of senior leaders, aligning messaging with the company’s commitment to operational excellence and execution.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects from start to finish with precision, ensuring seamless collaboration across direct and matrixed teams, alignment with senior stakeholders, and integration of enterprise and BU communications strategies.
  • Drive change communications to support transformational projects, equipping leaders and employees with the tools to effectively navigate change while ensuring alignment to RTX’s strategic goals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of business performance, market dynamics, and stakeholder expectations to ensure communication remains timely, relevant, and meaningful.
  • Create and manage content for internal communications channels, such as intranet articles, newsletters, emails and presentations.
  • Bolster employee engagement by creating communications strategies that reinforce RTX’s values, culture, and strategic goals.
  • Leverage data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, identify trends, and refine plans and messaging to maximize employee engagement and business impact.
  • Drive innovation by leveraging emerging digital platforms, tools, and techniques to enhance employee engagement and streamline message delivery.
