The Associate Director of Workforce Education (ADWE) is housed in UNLV Career Services and Workforce Development and reports to the Director of Career Services and Workforce Development (DCSWD) in UNLV Academic Affairs. The ADWE is responsible for collaboratively executing and for implementing research-informed strategic planning and collaborative processes that advance the mission, vision, and services offered by UNLV Career Services and Workforce Development (CSWD) throughout the UNLV campus and in the broader community. The ADWE will collaborate with the DCSWD to: Enhance the visibility of UNLV’s Workforce Development programs and efforts in the community. Establish relationships with a wide variety of employer, community, and non-profit partners . Lead and execute campus planning and initiatives around curricular integration of workforce-aligned learning and career preparation to support positive student and alumni career outcomes. The ADWE coordinates Employer Educational Benefits program implementation and management , including but not limited to the MGM COP and Amazon Choice programs. The ADWE collaboratives with the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and High-Impact Practices (AVP) to: Lead campus efforts to establish policy and processes to recognize credit for prior learning . Work closely with UNLV Online, UNLV Lifelong Learning (LLL), and other key units to develop, deliver, and manage workforce and career-oriented microcredentials and certificates . The ADWE shall support CSWD’s mission in a creative and engaging manner through a range of touchpoints and channels that connect employers, UNLV faculty, staff, and students. This may include, but is not limited to: social media, web, video, print material, face-to-face meetings, and presentations. The ADWE also supports workforce development and university top tier goals and initiatives by working on strategic and tactical initiatives, programs, and projects. The ADWE works closely with the AVP and CSWD colleagues to: Build programming and collaborate widely across campus to define, develop, and deliver comprehensive workforce education opportunities and visible and impactful outcomes in this key strategic area. Develop expertise around workforce and career data (i.e. using Lightcast, alumni report data, student exit survey data, Nevada GOED trend data, etc.) to drive a data-informed approach to workforce education on campus and to share trends with colleagues, community partners, and employers. All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to our core mission: to increase enrollment and promote equitable student success. This position shall collaborate with the AVP to set annual goals that align with Top Tier initiatives and SVPAA mission and identify and track core metrics to assess success. Like all AA leaders, this position plays a crucial role in enrollment growth, removing barriers to student success, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to resources, working to eliminate achievement gaps, and providing outstanding services and support to students across the lifecycle. By addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support, this position will meaningfully contribute to the institution's commitment to expand access, grow enrollment, and promote career-ready student success that leads to timely graduation.
