Under the direction of the Director of Mental Health Services, the Associate Director of Clinical Services is responsible for providing oversight of clinical services within Mental Health Services (MHS). The Associate Director of Clinical Services serves as a member of the Mental Health Services Leadership Team (MHLT) and is a Team Manager within UHS. Associate Director: (60%) Provides innovative leadership and vision to collaboratively develop and manage clinical services to address the mental health needs of the student population. Provides clinical consultation to UHS Mental Health and Medical providers, as well as campus and community partners. Monitors service delivery flow, providing timely reports related to utilization, services provided, and other variables to align with the mission of MHS and UHS. Ensures that staff maintain accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations. In collaboration with the MHLT, evaluates and modifies MHS policies and procedures to align with field standards and best practices. Provides training related to clinical services for staff and trainees. Maintains intricate knowledge of the Electronic Health Record. Serves as contact for third party crisis response service including shared afterhours consultation, monitoring for adherence to protocols, and coordinating care with MHS providers. Participates in personnel supervision as part of the MHS Leadership Team including supervision of coordinators and Assistant Directors in the clinical services area. Supports coordinators of clinical services Develop and implements initiatives related to Mental Health Services, including an annual Peer Review. Assists in the development and implementation of mental health program evaluation. Member of the campus Behavior Intervention Team, and the Student Crisis Response Team. Participates in director on call rotations. Direct Clinical Service: (25%) Provides clinical services which may include the full range of services offered Participates in the provision of mental health crisis services and on call support and responds to campus crises Provides outreach including programming and consultation Demonstrates a commitment to culturally responsive care Administrative: (15%) Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations. Collaborates with providers and staff in UHS units and with campus partners. Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA. Attends staff, team, workgroup and professional development meetings. Serves on internal and external committees. As resources allow, represents UHS on the UW-Madison Campus, in the Madison community, and with local, regional, and national professional organizations. Provides continuing education presentations to trainees, staff, and external organizations; and Other duties as assigned.
