About The Position

OVERVIEW: The Associate Director, Career Pathways and Site Operations reports directly to the Director of Career Pathways and Site Operations and will support the efficiency of Career Pathways within a geographical division while directly managing the operations of a designated office. This role is responsible for optimizing support services to the Career Pathways hybrid and virtual learning ecosystem. The Associate Director will drive Career Pathway success through executing operational processes, meeting all operational resource and delivery needs, standardizing procedures, and supporting other strategic projects. To be successful in this role, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading efforts to continuously improve operational performance. You are skilled at anticipating the needs of multiple stakeholders and proactively taking on new challenges to support business needs. In collaboration with Senior Directors of Career Pathways and the National Program leadership team, you will define and lead operations at all Career Pathways cities within your division to include coordinating resource and space needs for in-person engagement as well as managing and supporting an office-based location with a constant focus on planning for growth and change. In keeping with Year Up United’s values, the Associate Director, Career Pathways and Site Operations will also have the opportunity to interact with program participants in various ways to assist in building a positive educational environment. Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in Operations preferred.
  • 1-2 years of direct management and/or dotted line/influence management preferred.
  • Familiarity with Project Management, and the ability to work cross-functionally with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform, manage, and willingness to lead through significant change.
  • Experience successfully creating and/or maintaining processes.
  • Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail.
  • Analytically minded with an ability to solve problems independently and in teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to strong Project, PowerPoint, and Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute operational deliverables for designated geographies within a Career Pathway in partnership with Area Operations Managers.
  • Evaluate operating results and collaborate with the program leadership team to ensure organizational needs and goals are being met.
  • Support Student Centralized Asset Management Program (CAM) for Career Pathways
  • Identify and lead special projects that will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all hybrid site operations.
  • Support budget management and project management duties, as assigned.
  • Build and nurture critical relationships with internal staff and key stakeholders, handling high-touch and/or confidential matters.
  • Work closely with the department leadership to ensure compliance with all Year Up United's policies and procedures.
  • Create, document, and manage the standardization of operational processes.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence by executing practices that maintain the highest quality of service within operations.
  • Support the full range of activities for Career Pathways, including invoice and expense reconciliation, equipment inventory and supply management, technology liaison support, and security access control.
  • Maintain responsibility for smooth office-based operations, including relationships with all internal customers, service providers, and external vendors.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the site health and safety procedures, making appropriate updates based on evolving guidance from leadership.
  • Support Human Resources related administrative tasks for the onboarding process as needed (I9 verification).
  • Support the implementation of in-person student engagement to maximize success
  • Coordinate and execute high-impact volunteer and partner programming, including guest speaker series, Fireside Chats, Manager Meet and Greets, mock interviews, in partnership with Development, Corporate Engagement, and Events teams.
  • Partner with National Teams (Events, Development, Corporate Engagement, and Talent Networks) to elevate the Year Up United brand and align programming with revenue and mission goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment between service delivery and business objectives.
  • Conduct post-program reviews and provide key metric reports to assess and improve in-person programming outcomes.
  • Serve as an advisor/mentor for a small number of current students.
  • Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
