About The Position

This position identifies prospects and prospect strategies to Advancement leadership which result in major gifts for Illinois State University. Meets with the Development team leadership and directors to determine a data-driven course of action for portfolio management. Reviews and analyzes constituent data to determine assignments for major donors, principal donors, and transformational donors in pursuit of gifts to impact ISU. Communicates with development directors to optimize portfolios. Develops portfolio management, pipeline, and individual strategies to impact the fundraising success of ISU’s capital campaign. Creates, documents, and communicates best practices in relation to prospect management. Manages and utilizes technology, including donor databases, research tools, and ancillary sources to optimize resources. Provides best practices to all staff and supervises student staff. Additional Information Prospect Management and Research is a part of Advancement and Foundation Operations, one of four departments managed by University Advancement. Prospect Management and Research’s mission is to enhance ISU’s philanthropic endeavors by partnering with Development to deliver timely information, moves management, data, and prospect analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in prospect management and research, foundation operations, annual giving, fundraising and development, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with advancement database systems and research software.
  • Experience with prospect management.
  • Experience in higher education.
