About The Position

The Associate Director, Field Medical Training, Insights and Analytics, is responsible for the development of all product, disease state, competitive landscape and skills training for Field Medical colleagues supporting one of the company’s therapeutic areas, including Neuroscience, Rare Disease, or Oncology. Therapeutic area assignment will be based on experience and organizational need. This role includes leading the development, operational planning and implementation of the annual training program; facilitating core training classes; and delivering pull through learning and skills development for Field Medical teams. The Associate Director will also review and synthesize insights gathered from Field Medical colleagues to identify emerging trends, unmet needs and opportunities within the assigned therapeutic area. Additional responsibilities include agency project management and execution of new training programs, including coordination of legal, regulatory and medical review processes. The role also encompasses the collection and integration of best practices from global teams and US franchise partners.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a doctorate (PharmD/MD/PhD) with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing cross-functional projects with significant business impact
  • Excellent understanding of industry guidance and best practices.
  • Experience with developing, reporting, and tracking field performance metrics.
  • Experience as an MSL or in a scientific training and development, and strategic planning role.
  • Strong facilitation & presentation skill set.
  • Knowledge of selling principles.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical systems used for sales execution & implementation is strongly preferred (ACTO, Veeva, iEngage).

Nice To Haves

  • Therapeutic area experience in at least one of the following Neuroscience (spasticity, cervical dystonia, migraine), Rare Disease (hepatology or GI/hepatology related rare conditions), or Oncology (pancreatic cancer, follicular lymphoma) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience as an MSL or scientific training and development strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical systems used for sales execution & implementation is strongly preferred (ACTO, Veeva, iEngage).

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with HQ Medical, Medical Communications & Publications and Field Medical Leadership Team (FMLT), develop and execute comprehensive training programs covering product knowledge, disease state, competitive landscape, and soft skills for Field Medical personnel.
  • Design annual training calendars, onboarding programs, and post-training follow-up strategies.
  • Facilitate training sessions and ensure pull-through of learning initiatives for Field Medical teams
  • Partner with Medical Communications & Publications colleagues to manage legal, regulatory, and medical approvals for training content.
  • Continuously assess training effectiveness and recommend enhancements based on performance metrics and market trends.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and analysis of training across functions and support efforts that drive improvements in Field Medical effectiveness.
  • On-board new hires and assign them to training sessions; suggestions of program enhancement are expected.
  • Identify future training needs and create curriculum to facilitate that training.
  • Search for gaps in training material or content that should be filled to ensure a best-in-class training experience.
  • Maintain and deliver training content via platforms such as IPSEN Global Learning Platform (iLearn LMS) and ACTO rapid eLearning development and deployment, QStream.
  • Facilitate on boarding to other essential systems for execution (Veeva, iEngage etc.)
  • Manage administration and execution of certifications.
  • Collaborate with HQ Medical, Medical Communications & Publications, and the Field Medical Leadership Team (FMLT) to design, implement, and continuously enhance comprehensive training programs for Field Medical personnel.
  • These programs should cover product knowledge, disease states, competitive landscape, and essential soft skills.
  • Develop and maintain annual training calendars, onboarding programs for new hires, and structured post-training follow-up strategies, ensuring all Field Medical team members are effectively onboarded and upskilled.
  • Lead training sessions and facilitate the application of learning initiatives, while managing the legal, regulatory, and medical approvals of all training content in partnership with Medical Communications & Publications colleagues.
  • Assess training effectiveness through performance metrics and market trends, identify gaps or future needs, and recommend or implement enhancements to ensure a best-in-class training experience and optimize Field Medical effectiveness across functions.
  • Oversee the management and delivery of training content through platforms such as IPSEN Global Learning Platform (iLearn LMS), ACTO, QStream, and ensure onboarding to other essential systems (e.g., Veeva, iEngage).
  • Administer and execute training certifications and contribute to curriculum development to address evolving needs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive strategic and operational alignment for all field medical activities across therapeutic areas.
  • Develop and implement field medical strategy plans and skills training programs in collaboration with global and cross-functional teams.
  • In partnership with FMLT, establish and track KPIs to measure field medical impact and optimize insight collection processes.
  • Lead initiatives to expand field medical capabilities, including digital tools and innovative engagement models.
  • Update, analyze, and ensure proper metrics are reported from the CRM and medical insights capture system.
  • Collect, review, and synthesize insights from field medical teams to identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and opportunities within the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Generate and distribute comprehensive monthly insight reports to key stakeholders, ensuring actionable intelligence is communicated to inform strategy and decision-making.
