About The Position

This role provides the opportunity for our new Unitherian to manage a small team and budget that supports our corporate level facilities initiatives. From training and playbooks to procurement and inventory, this opportunity offers a ton of variety and exposure to a large growing team across multiple states and sites doing world changing science.The Associate Director, Facilities Programs & Operations provides enterprise-level leadership for the strategy, governance, and sustainment of Facilities programs and systems across a multi-site portfolio. This role is accountable for shaping and managing the Facilities program portfolio, determining how and when programs are matured, stabilized, sequenced, or deferred to support operational reliability, scalability, and long-term sustainability. Operating in a horizontal, non-authoritative capacity, the Associate Director partners closely with Site Facilities Managers to enable consistent adoption of enterprise programs while preserving site ownership and local accountability.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible facilities/enterprise program experience with a H.S. Diploma or GED or 14+ years of progressively responsible facilities/enterprise program experience with an Associate Degree or 12+ years of progressively responsible facilities/enterprise program experience with a Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years of people management experience
  • Demonstrated experience operating at an enterprise or multi-site level, with responsibility for facilities programs, systems, or standards spanning more than one site or location
  • Demonstrated experience owning or governing facilities programs or systems (e.g., CMMS, preventive maintenance frameworks, procurement processes, reliability programs, or audit-supporting systems) beyond direct task execution
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of CMMS platforms sufficient to support program governance, data quality oversight, preventive maintenance structures, reporting, and audit readiness
  • Demonstrated experience supporting facilities operations within regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., GMP, GxP, FDA-regulated manufacturing, research, or similarly controlled settings)
  • Demonstrated experience translating operational or technical conditions into recommendations, priorities, or decisions for senior or organizational leadership
  • Demonstrated experience operating in matrixed, multi-stakeholder, or enterprise environments where facilities programs, systems, or standards were coordinated across sites or functions with shared accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex facilities, operational, or compliance topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders or senior leaders
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or sustaining mature facilities programs or systems, including periods of steady-state operation where success was measured by reliability, predictability, and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Provide program portfolio strategy for Facilities Programs & Operations by assessing enterprise needs, risk posture, organizational readiness, and operational impact to determine which programs should be matured, stabilized, sequenced, or deferred, translating departmental direction into a prioritized and executable program roadmap aligned with Facilities Organization Leadership guidance
  • Provide enterprise-level governance for facilities programs to ensure consistent execution, scalability, and long-term sustainment, focusing on durability, clarity of ownership, and prevention of program drift or unnecessary reinvention across sites, while operating within established departmental decision boundaries
  • Own enterprise CMMS program outcomes by establishing and maintaining program governance, data quality expectations, asset structure standards, preventive maintenance frameworks, reporting models, and adoption strategies, partnering with execution roles and site teams to support audit readiness and consistent system use without directly performing day-to-day CMMS execution
  • Enable cross-site alignment and adoption of facilities programs by working collaboratively with Site Facilities Managers in a horizontal, non-authoritative capacity, supporting consistency and issue resolution while respecting site ownership, local accountability, and established escalation paths
  • Translate Facilities program strategy and standards into practical workflows, play-books, training materials, and sustainment mechanisms that support effective field execution and long-term program adoption across sites without assuming operational ownership
  • Provide enterprise-level reporting, analysis, and decision support to Facilities Organization Leadership by identifying program performance trends, risks, capacity constraints, and early warning signals using CMMS, procurement, and operational data
  • Directly lead, coach, and develop a small team of Facilities Programs & Operations individual contributors by setting priorities, managing workload and capacity, reinforcing boundary discipline, and ensuring consistent execution aligned with departmental objectives, including full responsibility for goal setting, performance management and reviews, coaching, mentoring, and supporting ongoing career development
  • Manage assigned portions of the Facilities Programs & Operations budget by supporting forecasting, expense tracking, variance awareness, and financial discipline related to program execution without assuming broader departmental financial authority
  • Represent Facilities Programs & Operations in cross-functional and vendor interactions where enterprise program coordination, alignment, or support is required, contributing subject-matter expertise while operating within defined scope, authority, and delegation from Facilities Organization Leadership
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
