About The Position

This position is responsible for performing tasks for the Fresh Meats Beef Operations Division. Key responsibilities include communicating specific divisional issues and companywide optimization concerns to designated management staff, and monitoring and guiding Tyson Safety Programs related to maintenance, including monthly reviews of training, work permits, crisis work, and injuries. The role involves project review and filtering, coordinating projects with Engineering, IS, I.E., and Technology Development groups, and assisting with Capital Investment Request (CIR) development and support at the plant level, including costing and financial rationalization up to finance committee defense. Strategic asset utilization and management, including line and plant rationalization, and strategic review of monthly storeroom inventory to meet company goals are also critical. The Associate Director will engage in long-term planning for major repair projects, plant automation, and equipment upgrades, as well as WIP movement and people resource analysis. The position assists with developmental programs for training new hires and improving skillsets of existing team members to enhance plant uptime. It also coordinates the company’s shared resources within the division, such as Engineering, IS, R&D, and Q.A. Operations Content Experts. The role includes conducting Process Line and Plant Assessments to improve plant operating capacity and reduce potential downtime, along with weekly and monthly reviews of plant operational downtime to identify causes and implement corrective measures across the division. Furthermore, the position focuses on processing plant optimization from an energy perspective, aiming to reduce water and energy usage through repairs or process improvements. Routine visits to facilities are required to review maintenance operations, program adherence, and project development, and the individual will assist Plants or the VP Operations with any other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • B.S. in a technical field or related experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive responsibility in a related field within a Beef, Hides, Tannery, or Pork manufacturing facility.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, MS Project, MS Outlook, SAP, Autocad.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong technical background related to hydraulics, energy, power transmission, and electrical components.

Responsibilities

  • WIP movement and people resource analysis.
  • Assist with developmental programs for training new hires and improving skillsets of existing TMs to improve plant uptime.
  • Coordination of the company’s shared resources within the division which include Engineering, IS, R&D, Q.A. Operations Content Experts.
  • Process Line and Plant Assessments that improve plant operating capacity, reduce sources of potential downtime.
  • Weekly and monthly review plant operational downtime, identify causes and corrective measures.
  • Implement corrective measures across the division where practical.
  • Processing plant optimization from an energy perspective, reduce water usage, energy usage through repairs or process improvements.
  • Assist Plants or VP Operations with any other duties as assigned.
  • Routine visits to facilities to review maintenance operations, review program adherence, and project development.
