About The Position

This position is responsible for executing large capital projects that achieve business, financial, and strategic objectives by leading and directing a team of project managers/engineers. This team coordinates and manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple large-scale capital projects. They collaborate through all project phases with cross-functional teams at the facility and/or the corporate office, including safety, operations, finance, food safety and quality assurance (technical services), maintenance, engineering, and environmental services, to determine project scope, process details, organize resources, and manage design and construction. The team will lead or support the bidding process to select contractors and equipment vendors, ensuring best value, quality, and on-schedule/on-budget delivery. The project management team generates specifications, coordinates procurement, and makes fact-based decisions during execution to achieve project deliverables regarding production throughput, product quality/specification adherence, functionality, budget control, and schedule. This role also manages outside engineering and construction management resources. The position is based out of the Springdale, Arkansas office, with relocation assistance potentially available.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' applicable engineering or project management experience
  • Proven record of leading capital project teams and/or coaching-leading engineering peers
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Outstanding team player and self-starter with a passion for customer service, developing business relationships and solving complex business issues
  • Must have a passion for learning
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, and innovation
  • Ability to interact with and communicate across a range of users, stakeholders, and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Four-year engineering or construction management degree
  • Experience in the food or beverage industry
  • Knowledge of and experience with the business processes related to food manufacturing
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, and/or Visio

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate policies, standards, specifications, and practices that support and enhance the company strategic objectives
  • Interact with a broad section of the industry not only at the plant level but including government, vendor, and industry representatives
  • Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization’s established policies and objectives
  • Maintain a working knowledge of USDA guidelines and OSHA standards and be able to apply them to plant layouts and process designs
  • Responsible for personnel management to include hiring, developing, and promoting personnel
  • Maintain knowledge of and familiarizing all Team Members with Tyson’s personnel training, purchasing, and safety programs and procedures
  • Oversee project financials, including cost estimates, budgets, payback analysis, and forecasted spend
