About The Position

Iambic Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director to lead drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) strategies across discovery and preclinical development programs at Iambic. The role focuses on designing and executing integrated ADME/PK strategies to support program progression, inform key decisions, and enable IND submissions. The Associate Director will represent DMPK on cross-functional teams and collaborate closely with internal scientists and external CRO partners to plan, execute, and interpret studies. This position will be on-site at our San Diego Headquarters.

Requirements

  • PhD in relevant field such as Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline; B.S./M.S. with extensive experience
  • 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on DMPK, including at least 3 years of leadership experience in DMPK.
  • Proven experience in designing, conducting, and interpreting DMPK studies supporting small molecule oncology programs.
  • Experience with preparation of the DMPK sections of regulatory documents, (e.g., IND, IB, briefing document) is required.
  • Strong understanding of DMPK principles, the drug development process, and regulatory guidance.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with PBPK, PK/PD modeling, including the use of software tools such as Phoenix, GastroPlus, is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of DMPK strategies to advance discovery and development programs
  • Plan, execute and interpret DMPK studies to support progression of therapeutic candidates across discovery and early development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., medicinal chemistry, biology, CMC, clinical) to provide DMPK insights and support project decisions
  • Apply AI-driven tools and computational methods to improve DMPK strategy, enable predictive ADME/PK assessments, and accelerate data-driven decision-making across discovery and preclinical programs
  • Provide input to address ADME /PK-related issues during lead optimization
  • Oversee external ADME/PK and PK/PD studies, including coordination with CROs and data review
  • Prepare DMPK summaries and supporting documentation for regulatory submissions (e.g. IND, IB)
  • Interpret ADME/PK data and communicate findings and recommendations to project teams
  • Stay current with advances in DMPK, PBPK, PK/PD, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure studies are conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards
