About The Position

Principal / Senior ADME Scientist - San Diego, CA Genesis Molecular AI is pioneering artificial intelligence–guided rational drug design to address severe unmet medical needs. Our San Diego laboratory is seeking a motivated and versatile ADME Scientist to join our Non-Clinical Development team and help advance our compounds through preclinical and clinical development. The successful candidate will contribute to drug discovery and development through the execution of DMPK assays and related studies. This is a full-time position in a fast-paced biotech environment with a collaborative team of highly skilled colleagues working toward well-defined scientific and development goals. The ideal candidate for this Sr. Scientist/Principal Scientist role will have expertise in a variety of ADME related assays (metabolic stability, protein binding, drug-drug interactions, etc.) They will be able to develop, perform and troubleshoot assays internally as well as oversee and manage outsourced work. They will serve as the subject matter expert in the in-vitro ADME space, providing strategic input to the project teams. Experience with bioanalytical assays and method development is preferred. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Pharmacology or related discipline. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree should have 7-8 years, and Ph.D.’s should have 3+ years Industry experience in Drug Discovery & Development.
  • Hands-on experience performing a variety of ADME assays is required as well as maintenance of instrumentation (LC-MS/MS)
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm, integrity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of bioanalytical assays and methods is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform a variety of in-vitro ADME assays such as metabolic stability, binding, and DDI assays with minimal input from supervisor
  • Analyze experimental data, interprets results, and troubleshoot assays as well as maintains equipment
  • Manages and QC’s a large volume of ADME data from external CROs
  • Provides strategic input in both the pre-clinical and clinical space
  • Strong scientific communications skills. Regularly presents work to supervisor, at lab and/or project meetings
  • Represent DMPK as the technical expert on project teams, providing scientific and strategic leadership for all stages of discovery and early development.
  • Work in close collaboration with engineers (ADME platform), chemistry (SAR), and biology teams
  • Documents experiments in lab notebook promptly and accurately
  • Assists with the preparation of reports and provides material for presentations, publications, and patents
  • Collaborate and communicate across departments to guide understanding of ADME studies and fundamentals to support drug discovery
