Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence The Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence (CI) sits within the Global Commercial Operations department and will play a critical role in shaping commercial strategy for the company’s late stage and in-line portfolio. Reporting to the Director for Global Competitive Intelligence, this individual will serve as the primary CI partner to cross-functional commercial and asset teams, delivering timely, actionable insights that inform strategic decision making from late clinical development through regulatory approval and launch. The ideal candidate brings deep oncology market knowledge, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate complex competitive dynamics into clearly conveyed strategic implications. This role requires a proactive, curious, and highly collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, science-driven environment. Work arrangement: This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%–40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60-day period, and is approved by the hiring manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MBA, or MS) strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry in a commercial or clinical role; and/or management consulting experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in competitive intelligence
  • Therapeutic experience in oncology/hematology
  • Experience supporting late-stage development assets and/or product launches
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and influence without authority
  • Familiarity with standard CI tools and databases, including incorporation of AI tools
  • Experience with vendor management and budgeting
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed environment, aligning diverse stakeholders and driving execution toward shared objectives

Responsibilities

  • Provide an objective commercial viewpoint on potential disruptive forces and pending market and competitive catalysts, based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of healthcare dynamics (inclusive of commercial, clinical, and scientific competitive information)
  • Lead CI strategy within specified therapeutic area(s) to ensure matrix teams have actionable intelligence by connecting the business implications of competitor (new & established) activities and disruptive market events / trends to near and long-term strategies
  • Drive and execute CI plan by leading the collection of CI from secondary and primary sources, managing external vendors, and synthesizing and disseminating intelligence and associated implications
  • Translate complex data into concise narratives that highlight strategic implications and recommended actions
  • Effectively partner across the organization to incorporate commercial, clinical, medical, access, and regulatory perspectives that inform CI viewpoint and implications
  • Collaborate with Insights colleagues across the Global and US teams to boost efficiency and optimize Genmab investments
  • Identify, develop, and leverage AI-enabled tools and workflows responsibly to accelerate competitive intelligence collection, synthesis, and insight generation
