Summit has multiple global Phase 3 clinical studies, including: Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) HARMONi: Phase 3 clinical study which was intended to evaluate ivonescimab combined with chemotherapy compared to placebo plus chemotherapy in patients with EGFR-mutated, locally advanced or metastatic non-squamous NSCLC who were previously treated with a 3rd generation EGFR TKI. HARMONi-3: Phase 3 clinical study which is intended to evaluate ivonescimab combined with chemotherapy compared to pembrolizumab combined with chemotherapy in patients with first-line metastatic NSCLC. HARMONi-7: Phase 3 clinical study which is intended to evaluate ivonescimab monotherapy compared to pembrolizumab monotherapy in patients with first-line metastatic NSCLC. Colorectal Cancer (CRC) HARMONi-GI3: Phase 3 clinical study intended to evaluate ivonescimab in combination with chemotherapy compared with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy. Ivonescimab is an investigational therapy not presently approved by any regulatory authority other than China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). Summit is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and has additional offices in California, New Jersey, the UK, and Ireland. Overview of Role: The Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence position reports to the Director, Portfolio Strategy to support strategic planning activities by providing actionable recommendations based on assessments of markets and competitors, both existing and potential.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Biotech or related field. Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MBA) preferred
  • Minimum of 8+ years experience working in oncology/pharma market with emphasis on Non-small Cell Lung cancer and other Solid Tumors
  • Candidate should have extensive knowledge in the Non-small Cell Lung cancer, competitive intelligence, with the ability to identify and collect appropriate competitor, market, economic, financial and/or operational data, perform financial and qualitative data analysis of markets and competitors, and interpret large amounts of data and translate that data into executable and effective market and intelligence reports
  • Experienced in leading and facilitating competitive workshops
  • Experienced with developing and executing primary and secondary market research. Experience in Global market research is preferred
  • Interpret complex clinical data, identify implications to Summit, formulate reports and make recommendations
  • Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation
  • Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties research and implement best practices
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced skill level with Powerpoint, Excel and similar data tools
  • Skilled at collecting & aggregating large amounts of market, sales, customer, and competitor data in Excel and other reporting tools
  • Ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive market and competitive intelligence insights, strategies, scenarios and impact based on in-depth research through presentations and reports to the Director of Portfolio Strategy and various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation
  • Collaborate with brand teams to plan for competitor launches by co-planning strategic wargames and supporting rigorous competitive readiness plans.
  • Provide situational analysis and CI inputs to support new indication planning, brand planning, launch readiness reviews, and other strategic forums.
  • Conduct competitive threat assessments for key competitors (scientific rationale, MoA, clinical data, timing, messaging/positioning, field force, access dynamics) to develop rigorous assumptions and actionable scenarios; align assumptions and implications with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure up-to-date competitive intelligence and implications are shared with internal stakeholders (includes news alert, congress coverage, pipeline updates, disease are landscape reviews).
  • Design and execute compliant primary intelligence plans to address prioritized intelligence questions; synthesize insights into implications, scenarios, and recommendations to inform competitive readiness and brand strategy.
  • Responsible for understanding real-time changes to the competitive and market landscape and communicating the impacts of these changes to the organization
  • Select appropriate research methodology to address business objectives
  • Manage vendor partnerships including negotiating costs, on-boarding, ensuring accountability, and timely project execution
  • Conduct in depth opportunity assessment on new indications, including market viability, competitive landscape, drivers and barriers, and financial projections
  • Support target product profile (TPP) development and conduct primary market research to guide cross-functional development and business strategy.
  • Provide analytical support to Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory and BD on an ad hoc basis to solve problems and inform strategy
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify emerging needs and business challenges
  • Drive innovative CI capabilities and ways of working (e.g., AI, improved processes, deliverable templates, knowledge management), and assess impact to continuously improve CI value to the organization.
