ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, RETAIL MEDIA & DIGITAL COMMERCE ACCOUNT LEAD (BEAUTY & WELLBEING) WPP Unite | Unilever Role Overview The Associate Director will support the orchestration of retail media and digital commerce strategy across Unilever’s Beauty & Wellbeing portfolio, ensuring strong alignment between strategy, activation, and cross channel planning across media and content. This role is responsible for translating high-level strategic direction into actionable plans across retailers, while driving coordination across internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

  • 7–9 years of experience in retail media, digital commerce, or digital marketing
  • Strong understanding of retail media platforms and digital commerce fundamentals
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong operator who can connect strategy to execution across media and content
  • Detail oriented but able to see the bigger picture
  • Collaborative and proactive problem solver

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with content optimization, PDP strategy, and organic search is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Translation & Execution
  • Translate the Director-level strategy into clear retailer-specific and channel specific plans across media and digital commerce content
  • Support prioritization across brands, SKUs, and demand drivers
  • Ensure strategies are grounded in performance data, content insights, and category dynamics
  • Cross Channel Integration
  • Connect retail media plans with national media, shopper marketing, and digital commerce content initiatives
  • Ensure consistency in messaging, targeting, content, and timing across channels
  • Support integrated planning processes across WPP teams
  • Retailer & Commerce Coordination
  • Act as a central point of coordination across Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, and pureplay teams
  • Ensure alignment in campaign structure, keyword strategy, and content optimization approach
  • Identify gaps and opportunities across retailers and digital shelves
  • Project Management
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and workflows across multiple workstreams
  • Drive progress against key initiatives and escalate risks as needed
  • Support implementation of new frameworks (e.g., demand space mapping, campaign restructuring, content optimization standards)
  • Stakeholder Communication
  • Support the development of client-ready materials and strategic narratives
  • Participate in client meetings and present key updates
  • Maintain strong day-to-day relationships with cross-functional teams
