Your next role as a Miracle Maker Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Business Operations team as an Associate Director, Business Operations & Facilities. As a Associate Director, Business Operations & Facilities, you will responsible for leading and integrating core operational functions across business operations, supply chain, and facilities management. This role drives end-to-end operational excellence, including ERP system optimization (NetSuite), inventory control, order fulfillment, logistics, procurement, and facilities/engineering oversight. This position serves as a strategic and hands-on leader, ensuring efficient execution of business processes, regulatory compliance (GMP and non-GMP environments), and alignment of operational capabilities with organizational growth objectives. The role partners cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality (QA/QC), Engineering, Finance, and Commercial teams to optimize performance, mitigate risk, and enable scalable infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in business operations, supply chain, facilities, or related functions, within biotechnology, life sciences, or regulated industries preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with NetSuite ERP (or similar systems), including implementation, optimization, and reporting.
  • Strong background in inventory management, logistics, procurement, and order fulfillment preferred
  • Experience managing facilities and engineering functions, including GMP-regulated environments preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (e.g., GMP, ISO 9001/13485, 21 CFR Part 820, ICH guidelines).
  • Leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in business software tools (Excel, ERP systems, reporting platforms).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize NetSuite ERP and core business processes, including order-to-cash and procure-to-pay, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and operational visibility.
  • Drive operational performance through data analysis, KPI development, and alignment with financial and revenue targets in partnership with leadership and FP&A.
  • Oversee end-to-end inventory management and order fulfillment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with demand and production plans.
  • Manage shipping, logistics, and distribution operations, including carrier management, cost optimization, and compliance with applicable regulations (including GMP requirements).
  • Lead procurement and purchasing activities, including sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management, and supply risk mitigation.
  • Oversee facilities operations, including maintenance, safety, compliance, budgeting, capital projects, and vendor/contract management.
  • Direct engineering-related activities for equipment lifecycle management, including calibration, preventive maintenance, and GMP/non-GMP compliance.
  • Partner with Quality and Validation teams to maintain inspection readiness and adherence to regulatory and industry standards.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, facility expansions, and M&A integration support.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies while driving continuous improvement, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, IT, Finance, and Commercial functions.
  • Communicate operational performance, risks, and strategic insights effectively to senior leadership.
  • Perform other functions and duties as required
