About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking for an Associate Director of Business Development to lead the NP2000 Propeller Systems pursuits and other Propeller Systems products and services for International and United States Government markets. This position is responsible for the development and execution of the overall NP2000 international growth strategy, leading all business development efforts and managing country's specific capture management plans. In addition, the role will also be responsible for leading business development for emerging and existing Propeller Systems markets, targeting domestic US government business opportunities. This position can be worked remotely, with up to 30% international & domestic travel expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience in Business Development, Capture Management, or Strategic Sales or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience in Business Development, Capture Management, or Strategic Sales
  • Prior experience with U.S. Government defense programs
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with U.S. defense budgeting and Congressional appropriations processes, including experience working closely with corporate government relations and lobbying teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing channel partners to support U.S. and global military strategic pursuits and sustainment sales.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contract terms for government and international customers with understanding of FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EASR, FMS and DCS regulatory frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short- and long-range, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services, including U.S. military, international defense, and fleet retrofit offerings.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate company goals, including propeller retrofit campaigns for U.S. military programs and FMS/DCS pursuits for international operators of U.S. military platforms.
  • Leads modification and upgrade pipeline development by identifying top opportunities, building supporting business cases, securing internal and external investment, and directing and managing fleet retrofit sales campaigns.
  • Develop new licensing, distribution, and partnership business opportunities to support business profitability targets and the overall sales plan, including the effective use of channel partners in domestic and international defense markets.
  • Leads U.S. Congressional advocacy strategy in coordination with RTX Government Relations, supporting efforts to secure Congressional funding and influence defense policy language aligned with strategic business priorities.
  • Responsible for company presence at trade association meetings and industry events to promote products, support defense advocacy objectives, and advance military and government customer relationships.
  • Conducts staff briefings on programs within area of responsibility, including defense programs, retrofit initiatives, and strategic pursuits.
  • Reviews contract terms and conditions for conformity to contract requirements; issues internal sales orders and changes; manages negotiations, changes, and terminations, including contracts supporting U.S. government and international defense customers.
  • Interprets and provides guidance to management on new and existing contract requirements, including regulatory and compliance considerations applicable to defense, FMS, and DCS contracts.
  • Supervises the review and negotiation of contract terms and conditions to ensure full compliance with regulations.
  • Analyzes multiple types of financial and market data to determine, verify, and validate the rationale behind business pursuits of opportunity, with emphasis on defense programs, retrofits, and sustainment sales.
  • Develops, analyzes, and reports operational and sales results.
  • Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products while monitoring market trends, defense budget dynamics, and military customer demand signals.
  • Domestic and international travel is required up to 30%
