About The Position

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as an Associate Desktop Systems Engineer. This important role will help maintain and support our desktop, laptop, mobile, and peripheral device environment. In this position, you will assist with operating system and software updates, monitor endpoint health, apply security patches, and support hardware and software deployments. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of Windows and macOS, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area required, or equivalent work experience acceptable.
  • Basic experience with desktop, server, and mobile device technologies.
  • Basic experience with SCCM and Intune, including packaging, and image deployment technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with Directory Services such as Active Directory and Entra ID, and scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Requires proven project management and methodology skills especially the ability to serve as a technical lead or coordinator and work on multiple projects simultaneously, especially in a cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of information security principles.
  • Virginia Housing requires associates to live and work within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • A Conflict-of-Interest Act Disclosure form and Secondary Employment Disclosure form will need to be completed as a condition of employment.
  • A background check will be performed as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+ preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Desktop Architecture/Engineering or application packaging.
  • Minimum of three years knowledge of patch management and software distribution.
  • Experience with multi-platform and operating systems environments.
  • Experience with endpoint security and related concepts.
