This is a 12-month position with a reduced teaching load to 6 credits per year. The Associate Dean of Programs, Faculty, and Academic Affairs (Associate Dean of Programs) is responsible for aspects of the day-to-day internal operations of the School of Law and reports directly to the Dean. The Associate Dean of Programs, in consultation with the Dean, supervises important educational programs and the Assistant Deans and Directors of those programs. This includes both the residential and hybrid JD, the LLM, MSL, and Korean Non-Degree Program, as well as Clinics and Externships. The Associate Dean of Programs is responsible for academic matters, including faculty assignments, course scheduling, the development and enforcement of academic policies and procedures, and compliance with accreditation standards. The Associate Dean of Programs should also work collaboratively with the Associate Dean of Students and Academic Success when matters or issues impact both students and faculty or programs. The Associate Dean of Programs participates in budget planning along with the Dean, the School of Law’s administrative units, and the Director of Budgets and Operations. As the School of Law seeks to develop new revenue streams not based on J.D. tuition, the Associate Dean of Faculty will assist the Dean with strategic planning. The Associate Dean also serves as a University liaison, dealing with other administrators effectively and representing the School of Law on select committees. The Associate Dean will engage in other duties from time to time, as assigned by the Dean.
