About The Position

Provides internal academic leadership and direction to Construction Education programs. Manages and develops faculty professional development and curriculum and program development in all credit programs offered at the Construction Education Center. Facilitates internal program review processes and outcomes assessments, oversees annual budget, and supports the Dean of Career and Technical Education. Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to help schedule and plan project based learning opportunities in the construction education programs.

  • Knowledge of Career Education needs and goals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows software.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Communications skills both written and oral, and excellent spelling, grammar, and editing skills.
  • Strong management and supervisory skills.
  • Skill in demonstrating cooperation and professionalism.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to write and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, patience and understanding in stressful situations.
  • Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
  • Master’s degree in Education or construction-related field.
  • Three (3) years of work-related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
  • Must pass background check.

Responsibilities

  • Works with faculty to review and modify existing curriculum.
  • Coordinates packaging, scheduling, and staffing of courses.
  • Supervises support staff in the Construction Education Center.
  • Supervises full-time and part-time faculty including hiring and evaluation processes.
  • Oversee program budget allocation of the academic programs.
  • Evaluates, designs and implements improved learner support systems.
  • Makes recommendations concerning resource allocation for the construction programs.
  • Evaluate faculty performance and identifies professional development opportunities in the area of construction education.
  • Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
