About The Position

The SCMNS Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs is expected to provide leadership and oversight of all undergraduate programs. The Associate Dean works closely with department chairs and undergraduate program directors to ensure excellence in teaching and mentoring, supports faculty development in pedagogy, and promotes innovative instructional practices. He/she also contributes to strategic planning and implementation of all undergraduate program-related initiatives, and supports enrollment management, recruitment, and outreach.

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess an accredited university's Doctorate in a relevant science discipline.

Responsibilities

Oversee undergraduate curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and program quality
Foster undergraduate advising, retention, progression, graduation, and placement
Support faculty in teaching effectiveness, pedagogy, and mentoring undergraduates.
Coordinate undergraduate recruitment, pipeline programs, and partnerships with high schools/community colleges.
Oversee assessment and accreditation of undergraduate programs
Address student academic issues and appeals
Manage the processing of undergraduate programs-related MOUs
Foster undergraduate research, experiential learning, and career preparation
Represent undergraduate education on university-wide committees and initiatives
