Job/Department Summary: Under general supervision of the AVP of Facilities & Capital Projects, the incumbent is responsible for providing the full range of skilled work in painting, finishing and maintaining a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures. The incumbent is expected to perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The incumbent may also provide instruction and lead direction to unskilled and semi-skilled assistants. Facilities Management and Services (FMS) is a large, multifaceted department whose employees work various shifts and provide diverse administrative and operational services campus wide.

Requirements

• The knowledge and abilities listed above would normally be acquired through any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of a standard painter's apprenticeship program.
• A valid California Driver's License must be maintained throughout employment in this position as well as successful completion and continued compliance with the CSU Defensive Driver's Training course.
• The successful candidate will be required to pass a Respiratory Medical Evaluation.
• complete a background check (including a criminal records check, sexual offender registry check, and/or fingerprinting) prior to assuming this position.
