About The Position

The Associate Dean for Accreditation and Evaluation provides strategic leadership in ensuring the academic integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement of all programs within the College of Nursing and Health Professions. This role oversees accreditation and assessment processes, ensuring alignment with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and standards set by accrediting bodies. The Associate Dean works collaboratively with department chairs, the School of Nursing, faculty, and university leadership to support accreditation readiness, program evaluation, and data-informed decision-making. Through these efforts, the Associate Dean fosters a culture of academic excellence and institutional accountability and reports directly to the Dean.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Nursing, Health Professions, Education, or a related field.
  • Eligibility for academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience in accreditation processes, program evaluation, and institutional effectiveness.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multiple accrediting bodies (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, CAHME, ACOTE, COA).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, SPSS, Qualtrics).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Accreditation Leadership: Lead and manage all accreditation activities for the College, including assisting with preparation of self-studies, site visits, and compliance reports. Serve as a primary liaison for schools/departments that hold an accrediting body (e.g. ACEN, CAHME, ACOTE, COA, ASHA, SACSCOC) and regulatory agencies. Monitor changes in accreditation standards and ensure timely institutional response.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive assessment plans for academic programs. Ensure alignment of program outcomes with institutional goals and accreditation requirements. Analyze and report data to inform curriculum development, strategic planning, and quality improvement.
  • Teaching and Scholarship: Maintain a minimum teaching load of 3 credits per academic year, contributing to the academic mission through instruction and mentorship. Engage in scholarship and/or research activities, supporting the College's commitment to evidence-based practice and academic inquiry.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with department chairs, program directors, faculty, and university leadership to support accreditation readiness and program evaluation. Facilitate training and workshops on assessment practices, accreditation standards, and data utilization. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across the College.
  • Strategic Planning and Reporting: Contribute to the College's strategic planning efforts by providing data-driven insights and evaluation metrics. Prepare and present reports for internal and external stakeholders, including university leadership and accrediting agencies.
