About The Position

The Associate Counsel provides legal services to Albany Med Health System and its constituent entities, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, as well as New York State bar admission.
  • At least five years of full-time legal practice experience directly relevant to the operations of an academic health sciences center, such as contracting, business arrangements, patient care issues and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Significant experience with employment law and labor/union issues is required, as this position is expected to serve as a primary resource for the Human Resources and Labor Relations functions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and analytical, research and negotiation skills.
  • Sound independent judgment and the ability to effectively provide legal advice and counsel as a strategic partner to in-house clients.
  • Multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in common software applications and systems, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Internet-based search and traditional and AI-assisted research technologies.
