TITLE: Associate Controls Systems Engineer LOCATION: Bedford Park, IL (Argo Plant) REPORTS TO: Manager, Control System Engineering Workplace Type: Onsite Ingredion is seeking an Associate Control Systems Engineer is an Entry-Level position that will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to design, implement, and maintain automation systems using DeltaV and Rockwell platforms to support of plant production, quality, GMP and safety goals. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to develop their skills in a challenging manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in industrial automation or a related field.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Understanding of DeltaV and Rockwell automation systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the instrumentation, control systems, and documentation can support the quality and production goals of the assigned unit(s) in the plant to meet business needs.
  • Support the configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements of instrumentation/control systems and support effective Management of Change, including PSM and validation considerations.
  • Maintain knowledge continuity through specific subject matter expertise in an element of the site control system.
  • Manage assigned capital projects within approved cost, schedule, and scope constraints.
  • Participate in control systems lifecycle planning to ensure continued support and fit for use as they approach obsolescence.
  • Drive continuous improvement within plant automation.
  • Develop professional skillset to enable improved process efficiency and control system reliability.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and applications that may be beneficial to the business.
  • Share knowledge and provide assistance within the group, with other plants and any other customers within the organization.
