Overview Reporting dually to the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) and the Chief Nursing Executive, Chief Operating Officer (CNE/COO), the Associate Chief Quality Nursing Officer (ACQNO) provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for all quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives across the organization. The role serves as a dyad partner to the Associate Chief Quality Medical Officer (ACQMO) driving integration and alignment of nursing and medical quality initiatives to improve outcomes, reduce harm, and strengthen a culture of high reliability and clinical excellence. The ACQNO plays a critical role in advancing professional nursing practice standards and embedding quality improvement principles into daily operations. Through direct leadership of team, the ACQNO influences practice, ensures Joint Commission and regulatory compliance, and fosters a culture of safety, learning, and innovation throughout nursing and support services. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in nursing or related field required (Health Administration, Business, Public Health or Management) and 5-7 years of progressive clinical leadership experience in quality and safety.
  • Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • One of the following: Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certified or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality required upon hire.
  • The alternate certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Employees must obtain Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality or equivalent within 365 days
  • Employees must obtain Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certified or equivalent within 365 days
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

  • PHD or DNP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care services quality, safety, and performance improvement programs across the organization in collaboration with interprofessional partners.
  • Collaborates with clinical, medical, and administrative leadership to promote evidence based best practices, reduce variation in care, and improve patient outcomes.
  • Advances a culture of safety and professional accountability among clinical teams and support services.
  • Performs administrative and strategic functions in support of the CQO, CNE/COO, and the broader enterprise.
