About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Scientific Affairs, you will analyze the composition of food products, conduct experiments, gather data and findings, and prepare written reports to ensure compliance with nutritional labeling specifications, regulatory guidance, and food safety standards. You will also support the development of new analytical methods under direct supervision. A Taste of Your Responsibilities Develop project objectives, technical work plans, and complete assigned work on time with direct guidance. Perform chemical analysis on products to identify problems and opportunities supporting product development, nutritional labeling, quality initiatives, and applied research. Calculate and interpret data generated from laboratory instrumentation; isolate non‑conforming work and make necessary corrections. Write, review, and identify improvements for test methods and technical procedures and initiate action plans. Conduct external research to stay current on analytical methodologies and identify opportunities for laboratory advancements. Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and troubleshoot or repair equipment as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow laboratory management system policies and procedures. Keep accurate records of all test work, including laboratory notebooks. Collaborate with scientists and engineers to determine appropriate testing approaches for business needs. Ingredients Required for Your Success

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in analytical chemistry, food chemistry, or a related field or function.
  • Technical and scientific report writing skills.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.
  • Work effectively with others across functions in a team environment.
  • Physically meet onsite laboratory needs, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, pushing or pulling lab carts, working with solvents/acids/bases in fume hoods, and working in cold rooms or freezers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques preferred.
