We pride ourselves on our extensive network of mutually beneficial partnerships, and we use our substantial influence, capital, and energy to drive towards a better future. #LMI The Position The Capital Solutions team, operating within the $10 billion Global Credit Markets portfolio, is looking to expand its deal teams by adding an additional professional. The team focuses on being a capital partner of choice for companies. We execute on opportunistic transactions across the debt and equity spectrum that span geographies, sectors, and collateral types, targeting teens returns with downside protection. Capital Solutions can invest in private and public credit across security types, including 1st lien, 2nd lien, and mezzanine debt, along with preferred and structured equity. This hire will be a crucial part of a lean team, contributing to the growth and continued success of the Capital Solutions business. This is a range posting between a Senior Analyst and Associate position and level will be determined by hiring team based on experience.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from a leading institution (Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred).
  • Experience: 2-6 years of related experience within credit investing, private equity, investment banking (restructuring and M&A preferred), or consulting.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, financial modeling skills, decision-making ability, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interest in credit and structured equity investing.
  • Exceptional skills in Excel and a high level of comfort in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of producing consistent work product.
  • Comfortable making investment recommendations to and fielding questions from an investment committee.
  • Professionalism necessary to interact with external constituencies, including corporate executive teams, alternative asset managers, and external law firms.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and creative, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across a team-oriented environment.
  • General knowledge of capital markets and fixed income investments.
  • Team-oriented individual with ability to collaborate across both the Capital Solutions team and broader LMI organization.
  • Demonstrates strong AI literacy and uses AI-enabled tools to enhance speed, accuracy, and insight generation while maintaining sound judgment and compliance with governance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deal Execution: Partner with senior team members to execute all aspects of deal execution, including investment framing, credit underwriting, due diligence, structuring and negotiation, management of the investment committee process, legal documentation, and asset management.
  • Lead all aspects of due diligence and analysis of investments.
  • Develop investment committee memoranda and present to investment committees.
  • Perform detailed financial modeling to support investment decision-making.
  • Support deal execution, including the development of legal documentation.
  • Monitor existing investments.
  • Engage with external partners and management teams.
  • Market Research and Sector Analysis: Understand the merits of transactions and the underlying businesses, understand trends within a particular sector, and conduct market research.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects at a time and work with external partners and work internally with other LMI credit groups as well as our legal, asset allocation, risk, and accounting and operations teams to develop customized solutions for corporate counterparts.
  • Value Generation: Drive robust relative value discussions across the organization and seek to generate optimal risk-adjusted returns for the overall portfolio.
  • Team Collaboration: Work independently in a flat/lean team structure and promote a culture of collaboration, being willing to work cross-functionally to add value across the organization.
  • Technology and Analytics: Pursue the development of technology, data, and analytics needed to support the role.
