Through Safety first, the Associate Buyer will be responsible for supporting purchasing activities to achieve cost targets and working capital targets for assigned commodity groups and strategic projects, as well as managing the supply base. This role requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality. Requirements

Entrepreneurial Passion.

Associates degree and/or Certification in Supply Chain Management considered.
Requires 2+ years of experience in purchasing area.

Strong Microsoft Office skills especially Excel required.
Working knowledge of ERP systems required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Supports the strategic purchasing activities of others.
Develops an understanding of the capabilities of existing supply base to facilitate the day-to-day management of commercial matters.
Participates in cross-functional and continuous improvement activities.
Data gathering, analysis, and report preparation as required.
Execution of assigned purchasing projects.
Prepare purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
Daily purchasing and material expediting, when needed.
Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
Recognizes and initiates changes when business conditions warrant it.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of current laws and regulations that affect the business environment.
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
Respects plant and company ethical values and policies in dealing with suppliers and customers.
Negotiates innovative solutions to deal with problems and opportunities.
