About The Position

With lead Broker oversight, provides excellent customer service and processes new and renewal brokerage business, issues quote proposals and binders/invoices, and handles claims, endorsements, audits and other transactional items related to such accounts. Essential Job Duties Broker Support Uses discretion and judgment in reviewing, marketing and submitting new and renewal business. Subject to authority, prepares and provides agency customers with quote proposals, binders, policies and invoices in a timely manner and within deadlines. Assists Broker with renewal processing, preparation of renewal solicitations and monitoring of accounts throughout renewal cycle. Handles endorsement changes and cancellations, follow-up on subjectivities and process claims. Effectively understands marketplace and changing market conditions, keeping abreast of trends and techniques to maintain a competitive status. Customer Service Builds strong relationships with agency partners, provide excellent customer service and participate in marketing calls and training with Brokers. Marginal Duties Performs other duties as assigned. Adheres to the company’s Attendance Management Policy. Works with other employees when necessary. Assist in the training and development of other employees as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related insurance experience and/or training required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience will be considered.
  • Hawaii Property & Casualty Resident Producer and Surplus Lines Broker Licenses required or willingness to obtain license within prescribed timeframe.

  • Typing 35 wpm (accurate) required.
  • Proficient in PC navigation and skills with Microsoft Office Suite of Products and applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in the following: Mathematical, analytical and financial analysis
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Attainment or working towards an insurance designation (i.e. CISR, CIC, etc.) desirable.
  • Experience with AIM or similar agency management system and ImageRight or similar imaging system desirable.
