The Associate Brand Manager, Whiskey is a key contributor to the development and implementation of an innovative, consumer-centric brand marketing strategy, and supports the development and execution of all programming and activations across all markets and channels, in alignment with Maison brand strategy and the broader MHUSA Strategy. Office/Location: Hybrid 3x a week based out of NYC Office

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Planning: Support the development of the U.S. American Whiskey portfolio marketing strategies, in partnership with Sr. Brand Director, Whiskies & Brand Director, American Whiskies, and in alignment with broader MHUSA portfolio and Maison strategies
  • Create exciting and compelling presentation and tools to ensure internal and external buy-in
  • Track and optimize towards delivery of brand KPIs and all performance metrics, in alignment with brand plans and business objectives
  • Maintain an understanding of the competitive environment at all times, demonstrating a firm grasp on the evolving landscape and activity of Super Premium whisk(e)y and spirits brands in the U.S to inform planning and execution
  • Develop product expertise and a strong sense of market dynamics through training, market visits, and frequent customer interactions
  • Brand Management & Marketing: Support the development and execution of 360 degree brand programs and activations firmly rooted in knowledge of the target audience, consumer insights, and brand strategy
  • Oversee the execution of various brand programs, in collaboration with Strategy and Business Planning, Commercial organization, CC&I, and Consumer Insights teams; and other key stakeholders
  • Define strategic briefs for creative agencies, based on Regional feedback, market trends, consumer/shopper insights, and brand identity to develop exciting consumer and trade marketing programs
  • Collaborate with the Trade Marketing team to design and develop elevated, luxury POSM and brand assets to drive brand strategy and leverage consumer engagement opportunities at the moment of choice
  • Fuel On Premise ambitions and facilitate recruitment through collaboration with Brand Ambassadors and development of trade advocacy programming
  • Profitability Partner with Finance to gain an understand of brand volume and profit goals
  • Maintain brand A&P in MAP and oversee phasing, pacing, and alignment with all reporting targets throughout the year (LE1, LE2, Landing)
  • Ensure timeliness of all purchase orders and invoicing
  • Support the implementation of optimal allocation, pricing, mix, and channel strategies, in collaboration with Brand Director, Strategy and Business Planning, and Commercial Teams
  • Oversee set up and allocations of all VAPs and Limited Editions, supporting Innovation Steer Co and New Product Committee
  • Profile Stakeholder Relationships Develop relationships with Strategy and Business Planning, Commercial Team, CC&I Team, Corporate Communications, Finance, Legal, HR, and IT to build and maintain commitments that enable the delivery of brand priorities and objectives
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the Maison to ensure ongoing alignment and prioritization of U.S. specific objectives
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with agency business partners, distributors and other third-party stakeholders to continually ensure their commitment to delivering brand objectives; act as key point of contact for all third-party agencies
  • Create strong working relationships with Field Marketing Teams and Whiskey Sales Managers, working in conjunction to deliver programs that meets the needs of their markets within agreed upon timelines
  • Work closely with broader Whiskey Brand Team, ensuring alignment on portfolio marketing strategy and programs
  • Support the planning and execution of annual sales incentives, distributor conferences/GSMs, and customer presentations/RFPs
  • Other: Maintain a flexible and adaptable mindset by continually evaluating, revising and responding with agility to meet rapidly evolving business needs, and perform other functions and duties as assigned
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all programs and tools, and sharing of relevant information and timelines with key stakeholders
  • Approach each project and interaction with a positive and can-do attitude
