About The Position

Ogletree Deakins’ Los Angeles office has an opportunity for an Associate Attorney to join the firm’s employment litigation practice. The Associate Attorney will support Shareholders on legal projects and requests as related to providing analysis and counsel on policy issues for clients. Research law, investigate facts, and prepare documents for client matters. Summarize legal regulations, statutes, and local laws. Provide analysis and counsel on legal and policy issues to include mergers and acquisitions, employment strategies, union negotiations and elections nondisclosure agreements, outsourcing agreements and business strategic planning. Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits. Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing clients. Develop and recommend client policy and position on legal issues. Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues. Represent clients in various legal proceedings. Possess outstanding writing and communication skills. Prepare legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc. Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents. Write and administer complex vendor, client, and employment contracts. Develop and recommend of operating policy and procedural improvements. Complete the necessary MCLE to maintain licensed to practice law and in good standing. Requires 10% domestic travel. Role is hybrid allowing periodic work from home within reasonable commuting distance of the Los Angeles, CA office. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor of Law or a related field of study.
  • Membership in the CA State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws
  • Analyzing case law and providing legal recommendations
  • Maintaining confidentiality and responding to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact
  • Writing clearly, persuasively, and informatively and editing work for errors
  • Reading and interpreting information accurately and concisely and presenting information verbally to clients, other attorneys and juries
  • Organizing, managing, prioritizing, and handling numerous projects/tasks
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw.
