About The Position

We are looking for an attorney with 3 to 5 years’ experience handling state and federal tax controversy matters, estate planning, general business law and transactional matters. Tax and estate planning a plus. Our firm currently has 14 attorneys and is looking to grow. Associate will have direct client contact with an opportunity to work under the guidance of Chicago’s leading bankruptcy attorneys.

Central Loop location. Resume required. Overall compensation commensurate with experience. In office position, health insurance, profit sharing, 401(k) plan, etc.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school and bar exam
• Trial experience
• Bankruptcy experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues to best serve clients

Responsibilities

• Prepare contracts, briefs, motions, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research
• Prepare for and attend legal proceedings
• Provide legal counsel in conjunction with senior associates
• Negotiate on behalf of clients
