About The Position

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned, highly skilled Associate Attorney on behalf of a valued client partner for a civil litigation defense practice in Las Vegas. This direct hire, permanent placement opportunity is for a motivated litigation attorney who wants hands-on responsibility, courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to manage matters directly while working alongside experienced legal leadership. This role is best suited for an attorney who is eager to sharpen litigation skills in a structured, team-oriented environment. Candidates with unstable or frequently changing employment history will not be considered. The firm is prioritizing attorneys with strong tenure, clear progression, and demonstrated commitment to litigation practice.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably defense-side
  • Active Nevada Bar license in good standing
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Experience handling hearings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple active matters
  • Professional communication skills with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Strong work ethic with desire to grow as a trial-ready litigator
  • Stable employment history with clear progression; candidates with jumpy resumes will not be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Active California Bar license in addition to Nevada
  • Insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, construction defect, transportation, or commercial litigation experience
  • Trial preparation or first-chair / second-chair trial exposure
  • Mediation experience and practical settlement strategy skills
  • Experience reporting directly to partners or senior litigation leadership
  • Strong case ownership mindset with minimal handholding required
  • Prior experience in fast-paced civil defense firms

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil litigation defense matters from intake through resolution, depending on experience level
  • Conduct court appearances, status conferences, hearings, and related proceedings
  • Handle written discovery, document review, and discovery strategy
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and summarize testimony
  • Draft motions, oppositions, pleadings, legal memoranda, and case strategy materials
  • Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiation efforts
  • Prepare matters for trial including exhibits, witness prep, motions in limine, and trial coordination
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and exposure updates
  • Work directly with a supervising partner while maintaining ownership of assigned files
