About The Position

As an Associate Artist, Motion Design, you will use a wide range of animation, visual effects, and compositing techniques to create visually compelling and impactful motion elements. This role must execute a wide range of generalist tasks at a high level of visual quality, while working efficiently and intelligently under tight deadlines to support motion assets for marketing campaigns including gameplay trailers, social content, and in-game promotional elements.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of professional motion design experience or equivalent portfolio development.
  • Portfolio showcasing ability to concept, plan and execute original motion design work
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects including:
  • Proficiency with graph editor and Bezier animation curves
  • Proficiency with motion blur, easing, and secondary animation
  • Proficiency with masking, rotoscoping, and keying techniques
  • Familiarity with depth of field, parallax, and multi-plane setups
  • Familiarity with Particular, Optical Flares and other commonly-used plugins
  • Awareness of project optimizations for render efficiency and performance
  • Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro
  • Familiarity with design principles such as hierarchy, balance and contrast
  • Familiarity with common delivery workflows, codecs and technical specs
  • Experience with social media best practices, both creative and technical
  • Comfortable with tight deadlines, shifting priorities and prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Humble, communicative, and open to growth

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3D packages such as Cinema 4D or Blender
  • Experience with games industry marketing or product development

Responsibilities

  • Create original motion graphics and visual effects assets including title cards, animation loops, and custom FX
  • Perform visual effects tasks including tracking, keying, rotoscoping and compositing
  • Build organized, efficient projects for shared use by team and wider organization
  • Update or repurpose existing projects from teammates or external sources
  • Interpret and address feedback from creative directors and other stakeholders
  • Follow and maintain standards for visual quality, brand guidelines, and production best practices
  • Follow team process for media management, organization, and archiving
