Learn more about how our team is maximizing the power of water: https://wi.st/3vH5OUK Reporting to the Chromatography group leader, the Associate Analytical Chemist performs defined analytical procedures of samples using a variety of chemical procedures and analytical instrumentation; identifies and develops countermeasures for sample interferences and updates existing procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science degree
  • 2-4 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment performing chemical analysis and/or research
  • Proven experience with testing instruments and techniques such as: Ion chromatography (IC), High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), wet chemistry, and auto titrations
  • Troubleshooting process flow of instrumentation
  • Understanding of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Safe Laboratory Practice and Procedures
  • Basic Chemistry techniques such as the use of handheld meters and apparatus
  • Technical, Analytical skills and business knowledge
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills; Teamwork and leadership

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency performing analytical procedures within the water laboratory
  • Proficiency with designated analytical instruments including operating procedure updates, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Instrumental sample analysis; record keeping; calibration standard preparation; parts inventory and maintenance
  • Consult with customers on the nature of laboratory data
  • Export laboratory test requests and import laboratory results in LIMS
