Summary: Energy Transfer is looking for an Associate Accountant to join our Interstate Revenue accounting team in Houston Texas. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, finance or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Required Skills: Microsoft office products – proficient in Excel.
  • Technical Skills: SAP knowledge is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility with ability to work in a team setting supporting several people.
  • Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
  • Problem solving with ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly.
  • Personable, positive and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people. Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written.
  • Utilizes skills gained from classes/exposure for AI capabilities
  • The Associate Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%25 of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Compilation of SOX control documentation and development of related procedures
  • Monthly submissions of volumetric data to Government agencies
  • Record monthly entries for financial statements
  • Prepare analysis of natural gas inventories and transportation and storage revenues
  • Analysis of operational gas purchases, sales and payments of contract storage agreements and/or operational gas purchased/sold
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Reconciliation of various accounts and be able to prepare and provide variance explanations
  • Utilizes skills gained from classes/exposure for AI capabilities.
