About The Position

This position in Vendor Maintenance, reporting to the vendor maintenance manager, is responsible for processing vendor maintenance requests for the entire Kinder Morgan organization. This includes analyzing, reviewing and interfacing vendor data from our Ariba SAP vendor portal into our Lawson Smart Office A/P system as well as maintaining the database on a daily basis in accordance with existing company policies and procedures.Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Technical support for Ariba vendor system, including assisting vendors with registrationSetting up of new vendors.Modification of existing vendor information.Researching and analyzing existing vendor information against new information sent in by requestors.Assist Accounts Payable with annual 1099 filings i.e. modifications to vendor information.Assist Kinder Morgan employees with searching the database for existing vendor and payment remittance addresses as well as answering questions regarding vendor systemResearch of vendors on external websites such as SAM.gov for potential vendors on a debarment list.Additional vendor database clean-up projects as assigned.Validation of all bank account changes for a vendor via phone after carefully reviewing documentation received from the vendor through the Ariba portal or the credit card group

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or any closely related discipline and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable and/or vendor maintenance
  • Ability to follow vendor maintenance procedures and guidelines which includes Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
  • High level of detail skills to be able to retrieve research and analyze vendor data in different databases in order to complete requests.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to communicate with vendors via telephone and email in a clear and efficient way assisting them with their Ariba SAP vendor registration process.
  • Ability to work with Kinder Morgan employees across many departments and locations to answer their vendor related questions.
  • Ability to use analytical skills and logical thought processes to complete and resolve simple and complex requests.
  • Resourceful in obtaining information from Kinder Morgan employees that are requesting vendor data
  • Strong organizational skills to be able to prioritize and use time in the most efficient manner to maintain our 5 business day turnaround response policy.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes as determined by upper management.
  • Must be able to work with a team and take direction from manager (s) and adhere to work schedule.
  • May require overtime as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Access, MS Outlook).
  • Ability to perform vendor maintenance duties with little direct supervision
