About The Position

Would you love helping influence senior leaders with data-driven analytics in the morning, and work on a system-optimization project in one of the Disney Parks & Resorts in the afternoon? As an Associate Industrial Engineer at Disney, you would help translate ideas into tangible innovation opportunities that focus on operations improvement. Working on a diverse set of projects, you would flex your analytical, process and system optimization skills in service of a key goal: to make a happier, more seamless experience for our Guests, at every stage of their visit. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or equivalent
  • 0-2+ years of applied experience
  • Project management skills, with an emphasis on communication and building strategic relationships
  • A knack for consulting and making quality/process improvements
  • A confident presentation style with the ability to lead key stakeholders
  • Exposure to capacity/demand analysis and modeling techniques
  • Knowledge of conducting field studies/data collection efforts
  • Confidence with spreadsheets, databases, and statistical/graphic software
  • Resiliency – you’re up for the challenge of continuous improvement and work through hurdles
  • Creativity to approach problems in new, innovative ways
  • The ability to successfully juggle multiple tasks at once, especially in dynamic environments
  • A flexible schedule - you’re able to meet project milestones
  • The ability to think outside the box, providing ideas on how to do things differently

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Strategize with multiple departments to find the next productivity boost
  • Develop analytics to identify areas for improvement and change
  • Engage in a brainstorming session about simulation, forecasting, and optimization
  • Formulate plans with other engineers for future operational development
  • Present to operational leadership to help influence change
  • Develop relationships within Disney through cross-team collaborations
  • Gain leadership development and rotate between client groups
  • Attend seminars on professional and personal development
  • Research and benchmark topics relevant to your project scope
  • Lead or support others with a field study
  • Spend time in the Parks to observe operations, and gain process insights
