About The Position

The Office of Intercollegiate Athletics seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking and engaging Assistant Women's Soccer Coach to join our department of athletics. The successful candidate will demonstrate support for diversity, equity and inclusiveness as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment. Under the direction of the Head Women's Soccer Coach, the assistant coach will have responsibilities within all aspects of program management including, but not limited to: practice and game preparation, recruiting, scheduling of team travel and meals, game sheets, statistics, coordination of film review sessions, planning of team activities, scouting reports on opponents, camps and clinics, game day and practice facility set-up, academic monitoring, fundraising and volunteer events. The assistant coach will be expected to attend all practices, matches, staff meetings, and retreats, golf tournaments, one night of volunteer work at the Opportunity Village's Magical Forest, awards banquet, staffing and working athletic events a few times for the designated spring sports during their seasons. The assistant coach may also be responsible for teaching 1-2 PEX Classes per semester and will earn an extra stipend for doing so. The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must demonstrate the ability to recruit, coach and improve (teach) talented student-athletes. Exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student athletes and staff. Must be a team player and have the ability to support and assist other employees. Develop a positive atmosphere for the program both internally and externally within the athletic department and College. Must be aware of all safety rules and regulations associated with soccer and not place student athletes in positions illegal stunts or formations that may cause harm or injury. Physical Demands: Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity of condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Requires frequent, sometimes prolonged work on a personal computer/laptop. Additional physical lifting may be required to completed job assignments that exceed 10 pounds of force.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and previous college soccer coaching experience required.
  • Must have experience in recruiting college student-athletes.
  • General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, NJCAA policies and compliance issues.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to recruit, coach and improve (teach) talented student-athletes.
