About The Position

Manages, coordinates, and oversees daily activities of staff engaged in materials movement or handling, receiving, loading, unloading, transporting, stacking, order filling, shipping, and maintaining stock in the warehouse. Assigns personnel to shipping or receiving orders and requests for movement of materials and products, prepares work schedules, and gives work assignments to subordinates.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred a combination of over five years of directly related training and/or experience is required for carrying out the responsibilities for this job. Certified forklift operator.
  • Must be able to lift 70lbs repeatedly
  • Clean Driver License

  • 7:30 - 4:30 Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the running of the daily operations of a 65,000+ square foot warehouse w/32’ clear ceiling.
  • Supervise 15-25 employees based on seasonality of the business.
  • Reports to the Senior Operations Manager, coordinates w/ SOM on all distribution center day to day operations
  • Responsible for the complete order fulfillment cycle to meet customer requirements, including receiving, inventory management, staging and shipping.
  • Manages the design and implementation of work methods and operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Ensure employee safety through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability and by promptly addressing all potential hazards. Ensures 100% compliance and OSHA guidelines.
  • Responsible for training of new workers.
  • Delegates tasks to, Inventory Control Supervisor, Asst Supervisor, and all shipping clerks to ensure all assigned work is completed.
  • Works to establish the best S.O.P.s and documents all warehouse procedures.
  • Determines and enforces productivity while continuing to develop and improve existing operations.
  • Audit local delivery logbooks and insure DOT compliance.
  • Assist SOM in route planning, route maximization, and provide support to Local Delivery coordinator in their daily activities.
  • Manage local delivery scorecard.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes daily workloads and schedules.
  • Responsible for inventory control and maintenance of the facility
  • Manages and supervises staff schedules and workloads, including attendance.
  • Interfaces between staff and traffic, customer service, and inventory planning as liaison to SOM coordinating daily logistics and overall operations.
  • Keep equipment including company conveyor and material handling operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Accomplishes warehouse objectives by assisting SOM in orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Certified forklift operator
  • Oversees ordering of warehouse supplies
  • Responsible for the proper opening and closing of the distribution center.
