Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive management experience in residential property management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • DC Salesperson or DC Property Managers License and/or CPM, CAPs certification required.
  • Extensive knowledge of DMV markets, including DC and MD Rent Control.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and analytical skills. Expert ability to communicate ideas, recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely.
  • Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, attention to details, and operational/organizational/problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success supervising, mentoring, inspiring, and motivating a team of professionals.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, including expert knowledge of Excel, is required.
  • Working knowledge of real estate software programs such as RCC, MRI, Yardi, AVID, and DCHA portal is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned Regional Property Managers and property management team, ensuring execution of company standards and operational efficiency across portfolio.
  • Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and profitability.
  • Regularly monitor market conditions to recommend pricing and promotions for portfolio.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze performance metrics to continuously improve property operations.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain property management team. Create and track succession planning goals.
  • Effectively manage performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review, and present routine reporting to clients, senior leadership and partners.
  • Drive resident satisfaction and retention through service excellence and strategic enhancement of the living experience.
  • Build and sustain a positive, high-performance culture by modeling Borger Residential core values, including integrity, encouraging collaboration, and reinforcing a commitment to service excellence.
  • Lead or support company initiatives and strategic programs as assigned.
  • Assist with acquisitions and dispositions, including preparation of pro forma budgets and coordination of due diligence activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
