WSP USA, Inc. (WSP) is looking for an Assistant Vice President in Transportation Planning for our Advisory & Planning business in Texas with preference for Houston . We are looking for a motivated, highly skilled, and experienced transportation with focus in the transportation industry, particularly transit. This position is expected to provide subject matter expertise as well as be a client advisor, staff manager, and pursuit and project manager on Texas projects and programs. This position will work closely with planning, environmental, civil, and transit/rail staff across WSP to research, analyze, document and present information related to various types of transportation projects across Texas. Your Impact Oversee the appropriate use of topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS data, and other visualization tools to determine exact locations of project areas, associated physical / urban / population / economic / political sensitivities, and to uncover primary, secondary, and tertiary impacts. Lead larger-scale more complex transportation planning projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring profitability and satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees. Responsible for the contribution and management of multi-disciplinary project teams in all phases of the execution and delivery of siting, impact assessment, approval and permitting for assigned business sector projects, as well as transportation planning and management projects. Actively foster compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local Agency laws, policies, and regulatory requirements. Support the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Transportation Planning work for WSP in assigned area of responsibility, with a focus on opportunities in all disciplines (planning, design, strategic consulting, and program management). Perform professional transportation planning work and conduct investigations, inspections, studies, and surveys to gain further information on a particular problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future needs affecting equitable development, construction, transportation demand management, mobility planning, and multimodal access. Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings. Interpret and summarize data, including reports and documents that result in sound planning and regulatory conclusions to minimize impacts to the community, population, local economy, and environment.
