About The Position

The Corporate Director of Student Financial Operations is responsible for enterprise-level operational execution of all student-facing Student Financial Services functions. This role drives measurable performance across Tuition Planning execution, Funding Operations, Active and Inactive Student Collections, Cohort Default Rate (CDR) engagement activities, and centralized student financial call center operations. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Student Financial Services, the Corporate Director ensures defined enterprise standards are implemented consistently across campuses and remote teams. The position is accountable for speed-to-package performance, financial clearance SLAs, delinquency reduction, outreach execution, service quality, and performance visibility. This role converts enterprise strategy into daily operational results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive leadership experience in Student Financial Services, financial operations, funding strategy, or collections management within higher education or a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-campus Directors and centralized operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of tuition planning models, scholarship administration, collections strategy, and default prevention frameworks.
  • Proven ability to design performance dashboards, monitor SLA compliance, and analyze division-level operational data.
  • Communication skills with ability to present performance insights to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Performance & Execution
  • Execute enterprise service standards and operational directives established by the Senior Vice President of Student Financial Services
  • Drive performance against defined KPIs and SLAs across all student-facing financial functions
  • Monitor speed-to-package and financial clearance timelines and implement corrective actions where performance gaps exist
  • Ensure consistent workflow execution across campuses and centralized operations
  • Funding Operations & Packaging Management
  • Oversee daily execution of funding workflows, including scholarship processing and external funding documentation
  • Monitor funding gap trends and ensure timely resolution at the campus level
  • Drive packaging completion performance and reduce delays impacting student starts
  • Ensure documentation standards and compliance controls are consistently applied
  • Tuition Planning & Financial Clearance Execution
  • Enforce financial clearance service-level agreements (SLAs)
  • Identify and remove operational roadblocks affecting enrollment-to-start conversion
  • Ensure timely and accurate tuition planning documentation
  • Monitor campus-level performance and provide structured performance feedback
  • Collections & Delinquency Management
  • Drive outreach cadence execution across active and inactive student populations
  • Monitor account aging, delinquency trends, and recovery performance metrics
  • Ensure consistent promise-to-pay documentation and follow-through
  • Implement operational action plans to reduce delinquency exposure
  • CDR Operational Engagement
  • Execute proactive borrower engagement strategies for at-risk students and graduates
  • Monitor repayment trend data and outreach effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation supporting institutional default prevention efforts
  • Provide recurring performance data to the Senior Vice President
  • Call Center & Student Experience Oversight
  • Oversee centralized student financial call center operations and campus-based engagement teams
  • Monitor performance indicators including responsiveness, resolution timelines, documentation accuracy, and quality assurance scores
  • Implement coaching and training plans to improve service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Ensure consistent student communication standards across all engagement channels
  • Workflow Implementation & Performance Reporting
  • Implement standardized workflows across all student-facing financial functions
  • Maintain and monitor SLAs
  • Produce recurring operational dashboards and campus-level performance reports
  • Translate performance data into structured operational improvement plans
  • Escalate systemic risks or trends to the Senior Vice President
  • Leadership & Accountability
  • Directly supervise Directors within student-facing financial operations
  • Establish measurable performance expectations aligned with enterprise benchmarks
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement corrective action plans as needed
  • Lead operational training initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
