About The Position

Teach fundamental skills and strategies related to the sport. Assist at daily practices. Assist at all track and field meets. Cooperates and collaborates with other coaching staff to establish and implement the shared program philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught. Cooperates and communicates respectfully to parents. Supervise bus trips and locker room, as well as, behavior at away and home meets. Maintain sportsmanship and respect to other teams, coaches, bus drivers, and community members. Coaches must keep an accurate record of equipment and uniform inventory. Follows district policies and procedures. Understands and follows rules and regulations set forth by all govering agencies: state association, school district and league. Participates in training and other activities deemed mandatory by the district to improve coaching performance and enhance student health and safety. Attends athletic department meetings, when required.

Requirements

  • Track and field coaching experience, preferred
  • Experience in K-12 setting, preferred
  • Effective coaching strategies to help develop players’ technique and skills
  • Knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, schemes, and techniques of the sport
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff, administration, district employees, families, community, and the state governing body (OSAA)
  • Current First Aid Certification or the ability to get certified.
  • Meet OSAA certification requirements.
  • Mini Bus Certification
  • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member
  • Ability to plan, organize, and work without close supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with District staff and the public
  • Ability to respect confidential information
  • Successful applicant will be fingerprinted and background checked.
