About The Position

This Assistant Technician position will be performing moderately complex engineering duties in the Non-Destructive Pavement Analysis section of MTEx. This position will be working with a small team based in Augusta primarily but operating the data-collection vehicle statewide and assisting a more senior technician in the collection of roadway data. Typical responsibilities may include: Operating the pavement data collection vehicle safely and efficiently on state highways, assist with the collection of high-quality roadway condition and asset data. Assisting in the setup, calibration, and routine maintenance of vehicle-mounted sensors, cameras, and profilers to ensure accurate measurements. Supporting post-collection processes including preliminary data verification, organization of raw sensor outputs, and preparation for integration into the Pavement Management System. Working safely in and around traffic, using appropriate safety protocols, signage, and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Standing or sitting for extended periods while operating equipment and performing light lifting or handling of vehicle components and field equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in engineering or a related technical field
  • Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering
