About The Position

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure track) to begin in August 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year. We are a nationally ranked program that, for more than 80 years, has been preparing highly qualified professionals for clinical, academic, and research careers addressing prevention and rehabilitation of speech, language and hearing problems ( https://hhd.psu.edu/csd ) Our non-tenure track faculty are essential members of the faculty of our department and contribute to our mission by demonstrating excellence in classroom teaching. This is a limited-term, 36-week, appointment for one year from date of hire. Salary will be competitive, commensurate with background and experience. An attractive benefits package is available.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or PhD in speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders

Nice To Haves

  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certification in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
  • Experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Evaluation and treatment of individuals with organic disorders, Vocal hygiene and evaluation and treatment of the vocal mechanism.

  • Responsibilities of the position include teaching of undergraduate courses in communication sciences and disorders.
