About The Position

St. Norbert College is accepting applications for a nine-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor of Psychology, beginning in August 2026. While the area of specialization is flexible, candidates who are either ABD or have a Ph.D. in developmental, cognitive, social, sport, or rehabilitation psychology are especially encouraged to apply. Other course assignments will depend on the department's needs and the candidate's expertise. The position is initially offered as a one-year contract, contingent on positive annual performance reviews and institutional needs, with the possibility of renewal. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching within a liberal arts environment. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. or ABD with a Master’s degree is required at the time of appointment

Responsibilities

  • Teach a survey course and an advanced course in their area of expertise
  • Share responsibilities for teaching Introduction to Psychological Science, Basic Statistics, Research Methods, and other courses as needed
  • Offer a course that intersects their expertise with the College’s Health & Human Performance program
  • Develop an active program of research involving undergraduates
  • Full-time faculty position involves a 3-3 course load, with courses meeting for 180 minutes each week
